The New Rain Makers release their debut album "Waiting for the Rain" at the exact moment they begin performing it — eight songs, live and in full, in high-quality audio and video from HQS Live in Tokyo, Japan. Wherever you are, you hear it for the first time as the world does. Buy now and watch live, or any time 24/7 in the seven days after.

Check it out!

A multi-genre rock collection ranging from progressive to pop to atmospheric rock. Two of the heavier songs open into long floating keyboard passages; the rest belong to the guitars. Written by J. Dale Walker with the band.

Sneak Preview of the Album

"Waiting for the Rain" is a ballad about not giving up, and it opens slowly and keeps opening. "Saturnine" is about being stuck without knowing why, and it moves the same way — unhurried, layer on layer. "If I Look Good To You" is a mid-tempo piece of sarcasm about musicians judged on how they look rather than how they sound. "Silver Spoon" watches the world from the cheap seats, piano-led and fast on its feet. "Pretty White Lies" follows a small lie as it grows, and it's where the band's pop instincts show most clearly.

SET 1 · 19:00 JST · Dakki feat. Chikara The Boy
Dakki sings and plays tsugaru-shamisen — the hard, percussive style of northern Japan, played with a heavy plectrum and a strike you feel as much as hear. She fronts a genuinely unique Japanese fusion shamisen rock & rap band, with Chikara The Boy on guitar and rap and B.B.K. on DJ and finger drums. All original material. If you have never heard a shamisen played this way, get online for 19:00.

SET 2 · 20:00 JST · Waiting for the Rain
The album goes live worldwide as we walk onstage and play it. All eight songs, in sequence, played by eight musicians from the US, UK, Taiwan and Japan — on the night the record comes out.

「If I Look Good To You」は、音楽ではなく見た目だけで判断されるミュージシャンを、皮肉を効かせたミドルテンポで。

Chikara The Boy
Chikara The Boy のギターとラップ、B.B.K.
